Panic! On the Dance Floor

For an assignment for my Interactive Media Writing class, each person in the class had to write a longform article / blog post on anything we wanted. Being that I have been a dancer for 20 years, who happens to struggle with anxiety, I decided to combine the two to create this longform blog post on how dancing helps heal anxiety.

Through research, I found that dancing triggers certain parts of the brain and releases enzymes that counteract what anxiety feeds your mind. This is why people dance and move around when they feel anxious. Moving your body releases tension and anxious feelings.

Writing a post about this was intriguing and fun, especially because I have experienced firsthand how dance improves your mood and rids your mind of anxiety.
