Celestial Tango
Growing distance between past lovers, like planets in orbit.
This poem is about a past love that drifted away. I compared the dancing of the planets in our solar system as they round the sun, to this lost relationship. At one point, the pair seemed to be closer, but then eventually, drifted apart. As the years go by and the planets keep orbiting, they seem to meet up less and less, losing each other to time and space.
I played with the structure of the lines, spacing, and distance between words as well to not only highlight different aspects of the poem, but to give a visual to the situation I was describing.
